Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Bought a new laptop with intel i7 and iRISxe graphics, but the display is horrible with all colors washed out. I did a google search and it seems people have had this problem going back to 2012, but I haven't been able to find a solution. Drivers are updated. This is super frustrating so I'm thinking of returning the laptop, but really would prefer not to if the issue can be fixed. Any ideas?

I also only have the "balanced" power plan available in Windows 10. Could that be part of the issue?

Thank you for the information.

Are you able to duplicate the issue in the BIOS screen as well?

I recommend you update the BIOS and graphics driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.

BIOS: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp111001-111500/sp111386.exe

Intel: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp111001-111500/sp111490.exe

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thank you for the follow up. When I go to update the BIOS from the download you provided, I get a message that the BIOS I'm trying to install is older than the version on the unit... do you recommend that I proceed?

What is the version of the BIOS installed on your computer?

Cheers!

The latest BIOS available on the HP website for your computer is F.07 Rev.A. However, this might have got installed in the Windows updates.

I recommend you boot to BIOS by tapping the F10 key on the restart and check whether you can duplicate the issue in the BIOS screen.

Let me know how it goes.
