HI @Mawadz,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you are experiencing display resolution issues or cannot start your laptop, and you have a reference image but are unable to use it directly here, you can follow these general troubleshooting steps to address display problems. Here’s a detailed guide to help resolve the issue:
1. Basic Checks
Ensure Power Connection:
- Make sure your laptop is properly connected to a power source and the battery is charged.
Check Display Brightness:
- Use function keys (usually Fn + F1 to F12) to adjust the brightness of your display. Sometimes, a very low brightness setting can make the screen appear blank.
Inspect External Monitor Connection:
- If you’re using an external monitor, ensure all cables are securely connected.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
Power Off Laptop:
- Hold down the power button until the laptop shuts down completely.
Disconnect Power:
- Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if it’s removable).
Press and Hold Power Button:
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
Reconnect Power and Battery:
- Reinsert the battery (if applicable) and reconnect the power adapter.
Power On:
- Turn on your laptop and see if the display issue is resolved.
3. Boot into Safe Mode
Access Safe Mode:
- Windows: Power on the laptop and repeatedly press F8 or Shift + F8 before the Windows logo appears. If you can access the Advanced Boot Options, select "Safe Mode".
- macOS: Power on the laptop and hold down the Shift key until you see the Apple logo. This will boot the system into Safe Mode.
Check Display Resolution in Safe Mode:
- Once in Safe Mode, check if the display issue persists. Safe Mode loads basic drivers, which can help determine if the issue is related to graphics drivers.
4. Adjust Display Settings
Windows Display Settings:
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Adjust the display resolution to match the recommended settings.
macOS Display Settings:
- Open System Preferences > Displays.
- Adjust the resolution settings under the Display tab.
If it does not work. it must be a hardware issue,
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
