Product: HP ProBook 640 G1 Base Model Notebook PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop has just displayport and VGA port. My tv only has an hdmi port. So i used to connect it to my tv via a displayport to hdmi converter. But after sometime, it doesn't work anymore. I've tested the cables and adaptor on a friends pc and it works fine. My VGA port also works when i connected to my friends old monitor.

 

Could it be that my displayport is damaged just like that or a software issue? Any help on how i can connect to my tv again?
