I want to connect monitor through Type-C -> HDMI adapter. To do this USB Type-C must support DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP Alt Mode). How can I find out, if USB Type-C in my laptop supports this feature?

@Damir_G Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to know The USB 3.1 type C port can connect the external monitor.

Do not worry. I will try to help you in this regard.

Yes, You can connect the external monitor to the USB C-type port. For that, you need a cable to connect the external monitor to the laptop.

USB Type-C port with HP Sleep and Charge Connects a USB device that has a Type-C connector, provides high-speed data transfer, and even when the computer is oƫ, charges products such as a cell phone, camera, activity tracker, or smartwatch (select devices only).

– or – Connects to various USB, video, HDMI, and LAN devices.

NOTE: Cables and/or adapters (purchased separately) may be required.
