Does the OMEN Gaming Laptop 17-db0795ng
[A59N0EA#ABD] support HDMI over usb-c. In the specs description of the ho store I found  "
1 USB Type-C® 10 Gbit/s Signalrate (USB-power supply, DisplayPort™ 1.4a, HP Sleep and Charge", does that mean it only supports display port over USB c or do I have to care about active USB c to HDMI cables. How should I proceed if I would lika to use the USB c port for connecting my display which only supports HDMI and VGA. Thanks in priory

+ P.S. does the board support 2x32 GB ddr5 configuration. In the manual only the 2x16 and 2x8 configuration is mentioned. But I saw several infos of people telling 2x32 would be possible.

Chapter 1, page 2 of the service manual provides a little more detail about the USB-C port:

USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C®, supports:
● power delivery
● data transfer
● HP Sleep & Charge
● DisplayPort™ 1.4a out up to 4K
HDMI 2.1 out up to 4K @ 60 Hz with HDCP 2.3

The Crucial memory report for your notebook indicates that it will support 2 x 32 GB of memory:

HP HP OMEN 17-db0795ng | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com

You can also run this command to see what Windows indicates:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Hey thanks for the HDMI info.

I guess it is 2x16gb max than. I also already updated the bios to see if it would change something but is is still 2x16gb.

You're very welcome.

A few weeks have passed since I marked this thread as solved, when I check via Windows she'll the max.amount of RAM config. But can anyone tell me what exactly the limiting factor here ? Note I do not plan to upgrade the ram in the nearest future as 32gb ddr5 is plenty of ram if considered the larger bandwidth, but I would like to know why the max. Amount is limited even the Ryzen9 8945s is specified to  2channels max

256Gb ddr5-5600. Is there any HW limitations of the Mainboard/chipset or is it just the bios which could get an future update which could support more memory ?
