Probook 455 G8
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I am considering buying Probook 450/455 G8 model. I can't find any info about connecting two external displays with 4K@60Hz settings to any of the model. Is it possible directly or by the dock station? Is it possible to use two 4K displays with USB data transfer and power delivery at the same time in these models?

Regards

@Maciej3

General specs of the 455 G8 series shows machines have

(1) USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port (Power delivery, DisplayPort 1.4)
(3) USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports (1 charging, 1 powered port)
(1) Headphone/microphone combo jack
(1) HDMI 1.4b port
(1) AC Power input port

And they use  65W PSU's Therefore, please read page 5 of the following document

And select a dock which supports 2 4K monitors using USB-C connection (not many). I have not tested 4K monitors, but the USB-C Gen 5 would be a good candidate.

Regards.

Thanks for info.

I found that it depends on iGPU. For Core i7-1165G7 spec says: max resolution is 7680x4320@60Hz:

Intel® Core™ i7-1165G7 Processor (12M Cache, up to 4.70 GHz, with IPU) Product Specifications

for Ryzen 7 there is no info:

AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800U | AMD

But on the other hand on one of the tech forum (I don't remember address) somebody says, that only TB3 or 4 supports two displays 4k at 60Hz. Does it matter for the docking station?
