ENVY x360 hinge breaking/separating problem

HP Recommended
ENVY x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I keep my ENVY x360 in a protective sleeve then store  it laptop bag.  Despite light usage, I found the left hinge appears cracking and separating from the sceen body.  Noticed that it appears there are quite a few similiar problems before me.  Glad I found out on this platform.  What's next.  Initial response from HP is that it's out of warranty.  All indicators in my research is that it is a very common occurrence or is it also a flaw?  Please help.
