Issue description
After several hours of uptime, the entire internal laptop display begins jumping vertically every ~1 second.
The issue:

  • Appears after long usage or power state transitions

  • Goes away temporarily after restart or driver reset

  • Returns intermittently

  • Does not show typical GPU artifacts (no lines, tearing, or corruption)


Troubleshooting steps already attempted

  • Changed refresh rate to 60 Hz

  • Disabled Dynamic Refresh Rate (DRR), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS)

  • Disabled AMD Radeon features: FreeSync, Vari-Bright, Radeon Chill, Enhanced Sync

  • Disabled Multiplane Overlay (MPO) via registry (OverlayTestMode = 5)

  • Disabled hibernate and fast startup (powercfg -h off)

  • Observed that sleep and lid-close events often trigger the issue later

  • Confirmed AMD graphics driver is HP OEM, not generic AMD Adrenalin

  • Uninstalled AMD Radeon Software UI (driver kept intact)

  • Uninstalled AMD Radeon device via Device Manager (without deleting driver) and rebooted

    • This temporarily stabilizes the display

  • Tested with an external monitor, which appears unaffected

  • Verified the issue began after upgrading to Windows 11 25H2

  • Feature update rollback is no longer available


Observations

  • Issue is intermittent and state-based, not constant

  • Restart or AMD device re-initialization temporarily resolves it

  • Problem does not progressively worsen

  • Strongly suggests a software / compositor / hybrid graphics interaction, not hardware failure

    I’m experiencing an intermittent display issue on my laptop and wanted to check if this is a known problem or if others have faced something similar.

Do this:

- Press Win + R, type services.msc, Enter.

- Find HP One Agent Service, right-click > Properties.

- Set Startup type to Disabled; click Stop if running > apply and OK.

- Close window, restart laptop.

- Test it.

I didn't found  the service that you mentioned in my laptop but I tried to disable these services:

  • HP Insights Analytics

  • HP Diagnostics HSA Service

  • HP App Helper HSA Service

    but the issue still remains.

Oh then its not causing it. What does mead by shifts/jumps vertically? If is stutters, freezes or screen content moving?

screen content moving up for less than 1 sec and its repeating for back 2 back.

This looks like a hardware-related issue. Boot into BIOS and check if the problem occurs there too. If it does, it's likely the display cable. Connect an external monitor or TV via the HDMI port to confirm. To fix your laptop, visit the nearest HP service center with its documents. Ask them to diagnose the exact price first, then proceed with repairs. If it's under warranty, they should fix it for free; otherwise, they'll charge for replacing the display cable, which isn't too expensive.

 

Things may change if fault is somewhere else but it's rare. I don't think it's GPU or physical screen. Will able to know there and proceed accordingly.
