When creating a document or keying in text the pointer will without prompting jump to a remote part of the document and enter data there. A factory reset did not fix the problem. The unit was sent to HP Service Center, where the touch-pad was replaced and a new driver installed. However, the problem persists. The unit was tested by an independent laptop store technician, who verified the problem, but no service/repair performed. The problem has occurred several times, which creating this short description. An online search revealed an earlier edition of the same unit had a similar problem.
