Reply to HybridNistico:
I don't think that using high-quality cables is a 100% effective fix—maybe a 95% fix. There must be something else causing the monitor outages.
This is later confirmed by other users in the forum; they changed their cables and initially confirmed that the problem was solved, but after some time, the issue reappeared intermittently.
I have the same experience. I bought high-quality shielded cables:
Vention DisplayPort (DP) 1.4 Cable 8K 1.5m Black HCABG,
Vention DisplayPort (DP) 1.4 Cable 8K 3m Black HCABI,
Vention Cotton Braided HDMI 2.1 Cable 8K 3m Blue Aluminum Alloy Type ALGLI.
The problem improved but is not 100% resolved.
The question is: What qualifies as a high-quality cable? I tried to find a balance between quality and the sometimes ridiculous prices that some cables have.
Is there anybody who can confirm that the problem is 100% solved with a specific cable type? If so, could you provide the cable type?

seems the best way to avoid this issue is to just use another docking station.
seems the HP Thunderbolt g5 and g2 can't handle the zbook using high end video cards and x27 or Omen 27 monitors.
the issue was corrected temporarily by updating the intel video card with the latest drivers from INTEL (not Hp) but only after 1 month the problem resurfaced.
I used a Lenovo thunderbolt usb-c docking station for 3 months and I had zero problems with the monitors but once I started using the HP Docking station the screens started to go black for 2 to 3 seconds at least 7 times a day.
seriously, this has been going on for over 2 years.

Good day, please review my original post as I started this this thread. I use two HP23e monitors and they were going on and off which triggered the ask of the community. To inform everyone, my problem has stopped after switching out to high end cables - it has been well over half year now that the blackout has resolved. My monitors are comparatively old now so likely the cables upgrade has fixed it but for new monitors, suspect it won't do the trick.
The best that I think we as a community can do is to report to HP and also to stop using their docks. On YouTube, reviewers rave about the product, I don't know what conditions they're tested or the length of use because if they did, they would experience the same level of frustration as this community.
Good luck everyone.

Hello, I don’t understand this. When I connect one monitor via a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter, I use the same DisplayPort cable as with the other displays. Why doesn’t the issue appear in this case? The issue also occurs when using HDMI. Additionally, this issue only seems to happen on the ZBook with Hybrid Graphics. We are a large company with different systems here(Elitebooks), and no other devices have this problem.

There were several posts over the past several months:
1. Page 8 of 02-26-2024 07:11 AM - my initial test with the 8K HDMI.
2. Page 8 - 02-26-2024 04:22 PM - full review of the tests conducted - removed all dongles including the manufacturer of the cables
3.Page 9 - 02-28-2024 11:09 AM: . Note Frank also posted his solution immediately after mine. We have two solutions.
My problem is solved - all the ports on the dock are used as well running HP Dragonfly Folio laptop. No issues since the post on 02-26-2024 04:22pm.

I'm going to give it another try. I need one HDMI-HDMI cable and two DP-DP cables.
I plan to buy the shortest possible lengths. Currently, I have:
- DP-DP 1.5m, Vention DisplayPort (DP) 1.4 Cable 8K 1.5m Black
- DP-DP 3m, Vention DisplayPort (DP) 1.4 Cable 8K 3m Black
- HDMI 3m, Vention Cotton Braided HDMI 2.1 Cable 8K 3m Blue Aluminum Alloy
If I optimize the cable layout at my workplace, I believe I can manage with 0.5m, 0.5m, and 1m cables. My question is: what cable specifications would you recommend?
- HDMI 2.0 or HDMI 2.1?
- DP 1.4 or 1.3?
I've read in older posts that newer cable specifications might be more sensitive to interference. Is that true?
I’m willing to invest in higher-quality, well-shielded cables, but I’m uncertain about which specifications to choose.
