Microsoft Windows 11

Hello. Could you please advice me, the green line appeared by itself on my display,  laptop never was dropped or pressed,  just by itself while i was shut it down for sleeping mode. How to solve the issue and what could cause it? Thank you!

Hello @JuliaIva

Connect <external monitor> via vga/hdmi.

? Is the green line also displayed on the external monitor ?

NO: notebook internal <screen matrix error> -> replace screen -> repair possible

YES: GPU (graphics chip) error -> repair expensive !

Do you need more help ?

No, just on the laptop's display 😥

<sigh> 😥

HP warranty valid -> Contact HP Support

HP warranty expired:

In your case: Service is required !
- The computer should be disassembled and checked.
- [Always recommended] Thermal paste for CPU GPU and bridges should be renewed
- [Always recommended] The function of the fan(s) must be checked

- Check display cable / replace

- Check screen / replace

- General cleaning ...
You should have it <serviced> by a professional notebook (chip level) repair store.

(Cheap) Alternative:

Well, you could possibly live with this strange error. At the beginning it is still hard but later it's ok...

Good luck
