Pavilion 15-cb036ns
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, some time ago, while I was using my laptop Pavilion 15-cb036ns in game, I had a Windows blue screen crash saying GPU boot driver error, since then when I start my pc I get a grey corrupted screen that I attach and the only way I can use my pc is connecting it on an external monitor (using dedicated gpu) and I can't even access the BIOS as the external monitor activates only when the SO starts. I remember at the moment I had the crash the screen was just a bit corrupted but now over time I get a grey/black screen. I found out that if I keep it turned off for a while, I will get a normal screen for a few seconds than it crashes again. I also got some others blue screen, same at the first I had. What can it be, I have chance to recover it without calling for assistance (the warranty has expired)? I exclude software issues as I also tried to format the SO.

@Mat13,

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are facing issues with the display on your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

As you have mentioned that the computer is working fine with an external monitor it confirms that the display on the computer is gone bad. Having said that, I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hello, I've updated the BIOS but the problem is still there. Do you think the display is faulted causing vga driver crashes? Or maybe it is a problem with the integrated graphics?

@Mat13,

Is the display working fine on an external display?

If yes, then it is a problem with the display and I suggest you contact support and they will assist you with the available service options for your computer.
