I connect the monitor via an HDMI cable and the monitor shows "no signal", tried different cables, TVs, downloaded the latest drivers to the video card and nothing helped.

Is it a normal monitor OR a TV ? For a TV, please check its manual. Many TV's now have 4 or more HDMI ports, you need to tell your TV which HDMI port for a computer.
