HP ENVY x360 13.3 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 13-bf0000 (552D6AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I downloaded the AVG driver updater and it has removed the touchscreen from my computer, I have tried looking in my device manager and it is not there (HID compliant touchscreen) so i cant reinstall it. Is there any way I can download it without restarting my computer?

Hi @Loz05,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To resolve the issue with the missing touchscreen driver on your HP ENVY X360 13.3 Inch 2-In-1 Laptop, you can follow these steps to try to reinstall the driver without restarting your computer.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Click on Check for updates. Windows might detect the missing driver and reinstall it automatically.

Use the Device Manager to Scan for Hardware Changes:

  • Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting Device Manager.
  • In Device Manager, click on Action at the top and then select Scan for hardware changes. This might help Windows detect and reinstall the touchscreen driver.

Manually Install the Driver from HP:

  • Go to the HP Support website.
  • Enter your laptop's model number (HP ENVY X360 13.3 Inch) to find the drivers specific to your model.
  • Download and install the latest drivers for your touchscreen from the HP website.

Use HP Support Assistant:

  • If you don't already have it, download and install the HP Support Assistant from the HP website.
  • Open HP Support Assistant and let it scan your system. It can often detect missing or outdated drivers and provide an option to install them.

Reinstall HID Compliant Touchscreen Driver:

  • Open Device Manager again.
  • If you see any unknown devices or devices with a yellow exclamation mark under Human Interface Devices, right-click on it and select Update driver.
  • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

Download Driver from Windows Update Catalog:

  • Go to the Microsoft Update Catalog.
  • Search for "HID Compliant Touchscreen".
  • Download and install the driver that matches your operating system and device specifications.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you might need to restart your computer to complete the driver installation process. Restarting can sometimes trigger Windows to automatically detect and reinstall missing drivers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi,

I’ve been in contact with HP, and I’ve got to send it in for repair.
there’s no option to download the HID compliant touch screen on the HP website so I can’t get it off of there.

same with the Microsoft catalogue neither of those work.
I’ve also factory reset my laptop twice, most recently with the HP technician on WhatsApp and it still hasn’t changed.
the device specifications say that there’s no pen and touch input available for the display when it worked perfectly fine before.
is there anything else I can try.
I also cannot access the BIOS menu
