HP Spectre x360 - 15t

As other users have repeatedly pointed out with no good answer for the last 2 years, the Active Pen that comes with the HP Spectre 360 (brand new - I bought this computer just a month ago) suddenly stopped working out of the blue.

 

I replaced the expensive AAAA battery, updated the bios, updated pen driver, reinstalled every imaginable app, and used HP Support Assistant (which the two tech support did not fix and instead, offered to "replace my plan, which would use up my risk-free warranty AFTER ONE MONTH. NO THANK YOU!)

 

This is getting really frustrating, and if you have any experience or knowledge of how to do a legitimate fix, it would be very much appreciated

As you've performed most relevant troubleshooting steps and the issue persists. This sounds like hardware related issue with the HP Pen.

Thanks, I found the issue. Somehow I got unlucky and the replacement battery was a dud. So got another battery and it worked. It's still misleading to say that the pen lasts for a year when it lasted 1 month. But luckily it still works.
