HP ENVY 13-aq1057tu
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a HP ENVY - 13-aq1057tu with Windows 10 Pro updated to 2004.

I have a HP Tilt Pen and have it connected via Bluetooth but cannot use it in pen mode.

It is listed as compatible but the HP Pen control software states that it is not.

Any advice on information need to be gathered to locate the issue please let me know.

@missmj12 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that the HP tilt pen is not working.

The HP Tilt Pen may experience various connectivity or performance issues including:

Issue 1:

The Bluetooth connection drops frequently. This occurs if the battery charge level gets low (the LED will blink red when the charge level is low).

Issue 2:

The pen is in pairing mode (LED is solid blue) but it will not auto-connect after the computer resumes from a low power state or restarts.

Normally, if pen is already in pairing mode, pressing top button for 3 seconds should connect it to the system.

Issue 3:

The pen is connected but the advanced features are not working. This can occur if more than one pen is connected.

Issue 1:

Pen LED is flashing red: charge the pen using the USB-Type C to USB-Type A charging adapter that came with the pen. Charge the pen for about 1 hour to fully charge.

Issue 2:

The pen is in pairing mode (LED is solid blue) but will not auto-connect by pressing the top button on the pen for 3 seconds (normally, if pen is already in pairing mode, pressing top button for 3 seconds should connect it to the system):

  1. On the computer, open Control Panel, and then open Devices and Printers.

  2. Click Add a device.

  3. Select the HP Tilt Pen from the list of available devices.

  4. Prss the top button on the pen and hold for 3 seconds.

  5. Click Next and follow instructions to complete the connection.

NOTE: If the computer has an Intel WLAN card, there is another option; roll back the Bluetooth driver to an older version as specified in this document: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06059834

Issue 3:

The pen is connected but the advanced features (Tilt, Presentation mode, Pen shortcuts) are not working: move any other HP Tilt Pens away from the vicinity of the computer and make sure they are disconnected.

NOTE: this is only an issue with multiple HP Tilt Pens. Other types of pens will not cause the issue.

Additional information:

Please update the chipset and BIOS.
