Good evening!
I have a HP Envy 13-ab035nf from 2017, and I am trying to find a way to connect it to two external monitors at the same time.
I have 1 HDMI plug (so one monitor is ok), and 1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 connector. I bought an adapter USB-C to HDMI, but unfortunately it doesn't work, it pop-ups "Display connection might be limited". However, on an HP ENVY 13-ad00XX, the adapter works perfectly.
I read several things online but couldn't find an actual solution to my problem.
Thank you very much for your help! 🙂
Best regards,

Hi Radious,
The issue is on your unit the " HP Envy 13-ab035nf" USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 is not supporting video output. While the "HP ENVY 13-ad00XX" the USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 supports (Data Transfer up to 5 Gb/s, Power Delivery, DP1.2, HP Sleep and Charge). with your unit is not working because the USB 3.1 Type-C doesn't have DP "Display port" capabilities.
Kind Regards
Thumbs up if I managed to explain you query.

Hi Spirit92,
Thank you! The info was very hard to find as the USB-C have the same name on the specs...
Anyway, for people having the same question as me, I just bought a classic USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter and it works, I am now connected to two external monitors (one through HDMI and one from the adapter USB 3.0 - HDMI).
I close the topic, thanks!
Best regards,
Radious
