Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the operating system you are using?

When was the last time the computer was working fine?

Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

I tried the procedures in the solution.  I also downloaded the HP Diagnostic app.  Ran the app for Hardware video tests.  The test said it was done on the primary monitor (the one on the laptop) and results were test passed.  Not possible because the primary screen is still black.  Only the secondary screen through the HDMI cord is working.  Do I need to tear into the laptop screen?  This computer is running Windows 10 early version.

Thank you for the update.

It looks like the display is gone bad. I recommend you contact support and check the available service options for your computer.

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Cheers!

Hi all,

Ive managed to get my laptop back working again i paid a repair guy!!  Apparently there was a virus (despite having Avast as my security).  This is what he said!

I have diagnosed your laptop and found the following:

1. The BIOS chip is corrupt

2. There are multiple viruses in the system.

3. The operating system is out of date and missing important security updates

 So its sll sorted now
