HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13-ag0xxx
Text fonts on some web pages display incorrectly - overly condensed or expanded if formatted (italics, bold). Foreign language characters different appearance to the surrounding text. Text appears differently on different web-browsers, but still badly distorted.
Graphics card and all drivers seem to be up to date.

@mirra2mirra Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that I understand that you are facing an issue with text distortion from the different browsers.
Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.
Please change the screen resolution and check for the issue.
To adjust the display resolution on a computer running Windows 10, use the following steps:
Click Start, type resolution in the Search field, and then select Change the screen resolution from the search results.
The Advanced Display Settings page opens. Click the arrow next to Resolution to open the list of display resolutions.
Click the Recommended display resolution, then click Apply.
If the issue still persists, please disable the "Use hardware acceleration when available" from the browser advance settings and check.
Also, Update the BIOS
let me know how that pans out,
And the answer to the above question will help me, help you!
Keep me posted, and if any of the above questionnaires helped resolve the issue,
Mark this post as an "Accepted Solution".

It wasn't actually changing the screen resolution that fixed my problem; it was changing the text display to the recommended level of 150%. Since my laptop is hardly larger than an iPad, I would have preferred the text to appear a touch smaller, but hey! at least I can read the websites.
I hope that it was making this change that fixed the appearance of text on some websites, as I did all sorts of settings and fonts gymnastics before I received this advice. Very grateful for whatever it was! 🙂
