HP EliteBook x360 - no rotate options at all in the notification options, as if there is no sensor

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I wonder if someone can help. I bought a second hand HP EliteBook x360 1020 G2 for my wife and I'm setting it up for her. IT works great so far, very impressed, but I note that the screen will not rotate automatically.

I think there should be a "lock rotation" setting in the mail settings window, but there isn't and it can't be added. If I go through the setting there are no flags anywhere about locking rotation. (I've Googled this issue and no simple solution works as options that I need to tick or untick are just not there). So it looks to me like the system thinks that there is no sensor, in that I can change rotation in the settings but nothing happens automatically.

Any suggestions would be great!

I'll also add that CTRL + ALT plus the arrows has no impact.

Edit: I have tried the HP Support Assistant and all drivers that it suggested updating were updated, but the problem persists.

Edit 2: I downloaded SensorExplorer (from the MS Store) and it doesn't detect a sensor. But, if I rotate then the computer does switch to tablet mode so it knows that the rotation is happening!
