HP Envy Laptop 17m-cg0(series)

I have recently bought MobilePixel monitors that connect through the USB ports.  I have used the USB port on the left-hand side to connect my laptop to a TV over the summer that worked without an issue.  Now, I am trying to use two monitors that use either the USB ports OR the smaller USB-type C port.  The minute I plug either one of my monitors in, the screens start blinking randomly.  When the screens blink on and off, they make a 'connection noise'.  It's like all the screens decide they need to shut down and restart or something. When they shut down and then restart, whatever tabs I had opened, the tabs will switch monitors completely.  None disappear, but they do not stay in place.   I have asked for new monitors, and after receiving the new monitors, I now believe it is some type of control panel problem on my laptop. There is probably a magic button that I have not been informed about to make this work. I am currently trying to find videos and there are none that go along with my issue.  But it looks like the ENVY of all kinds has had connection problems with multiple monitors.  When I spoke to HP, through HP support, I have been told I have to go through the tier two assistance level, where I have to pay for extra help.....I'm sorry, but I refuse to do that.  This computer is brand new and still has 7 months left on my warranty. So, if anyone has interacted with this specific issue, I would greatly appreciate hearing how you fixed this issue.  Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details and I would appreciate it if you could, perhaps elaborate on your concern.

  • What is the product number of your computer?
  • How many monitors are you connecting to the computer?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Look forward to hearing from you and have a great day!

Take care.

Cheers!
