HP Envy x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Model: HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 13-ay0008ca

Everything has been recently updated as much as possible. I literally just bought the thing a week ago and it CAME with an HP Pen in the package box. I didn't bother with it because I was intending on only using the laptop for work.

The touch screen works fine with my fingers.  The HP Pen manual said I only had to add the battery it came with and to press it against the screen and have it magically work. I tinkered with the HP Pen app that came pre-installed into the laptop, among the other countless Pen-related settings in the Control Panel options.

Nothing works. I've tried switching batteries.

Am I missing something else or was I literally sold a defective product?

I reviewed your post and I understand that the pen is not working which came with the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

Pardon if this comes off rude, but did you even actually read the entirety of my post?

This 2-week old laptop came pre-installed with the HP Pen Control app you haphazardly linked me to download, everything is updated, and I explicitly stated that I tinkered around with all the settings there. Nothing worked.  It's the most rudimentary 'control app' for a pen/stylus available and I have absolutely no use for an app that allows me to change pen functionality for a pen that DOESN'T REGISTER  in the first place (all the while my fingers work perfectly fine).
