G5 Dock USB-C
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hi everyone. I bought a HP G5 USB-C dock last year to use with my work supplied HP Elite laptop, which is running Windows 10 Pro version 1909; OS Build 18363.1854

 

Not long after I got it, i had issues with waking from sleep when I reconnected the laptop to the dock with the USB-C cable (it wouldn't wake and the power button on the dock wouldn't illuminate). I have a workaround for this so I never worried about taking it further. This morning my dock has decided to chuck a tanty, and now when I have my laptop connected, after around 5mins, it automatically switches off. As such, my monitor goes black, my webcam stops etc and the laptop is on its own. No amount of reconnecting, power button pressing or restart fixes it. I have to turn it off at the wall and then turn it back on. Then it works for another few mins and goes off again.

 

I can't get through to anyone on 131047 - just tells me to call [Personal Information Removed]which is not a valid phone number. I am hoping someone here can help as i'm not setup to not use a dock 🙂 [first world problems, i know!]
