HP Inspiron Laptop - connects but won't charge via Philips Brilliance 241B Monitor

Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

HP Pavilion Laptop won't connect or charge from new Philips Brilliance 241B Monitor, I get error message "Display connection might be limited. Make sure the DisplayPort device that you're connecting to is supported by your PC. Select this message for more troubleshooting info". When I use my other laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad X380 Yoga) it connects and charges without issue.

 

I can connect my HP to Philips monitor via HDMI, but it does not charge.

 

Grateful for any help. Is the HP Pavilion compatible with the Philips Monitor for charging and what do I need to do in Settings? Have tried to sort but no luck.

HP does not sell "inspiron" laptops; those are sold only by Dell.
