Hello everyone,

 

Twice the charm as they say...

 

Recently two laptops were brought in for repairs/ health check. Both 10th generation one i7 one i5 HP Laptop 15s-fq models.

 

The pattern is similar - NEVER flickering screen before windows desktop loads. Always RANDOM trigger, but mostly upon waking up from sleep - screen goes black then flickering, odd line in middle... it's like display is losing signal sync.

 

HDMI output is FINE whilst the laptop's built-in display goes crazy.

 

 

I've had both these laptops (customer devices/ I do repairs/ assistance/sales) running many hours without issue. there is a trigger point in software or a hardware type of failure within the signal output to internal display. 

 

One of the laptops full HD 1920x1080, this second one (that made me say twice the charm) 1366x768...

 

No damage, NO CHANGE if lid moved, checked cabling, etc..
