HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC AMD driver issues

Product Name: HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought my PC a year ago, with preinstalled windows 8.1. Shortly after in September, I updated it to windows 10 and by December  had all kinds of driver errors which - a year later - have yet to be resolved. The drivers crash and recover constantly, there are DirectX errors when I attempt to play games, and AMD settings and other features are inaccessible to me as it states there are no graphics drivers installed/they are faulty (which only occured after around christmas). At first I decided it was a windows 10 problem as it was new, but it's not the case.

In the year, I have;

Been in contact with windows support and followed all instructions/provided all info. They were lost for a solution.

Been in contact with EA games support. Same story.

Been in contact with AMD which state that due to my dual graphics, the drivers were changed by HP to accomodate the laptop and I'm to recieve them from HP. HP website drivers for my laptop don't work either, and my warranty has expired so I cannot contact them for support.

Uninstalled and reinstalled countless drivers, backdated, tried and re-tried.

Reinstalled operating system.

Tried AMD auto-detect drivers, which are compatible with my dedicated GPU but not the older GPU so won't install.



Nothing works. My laptop is almost useless for what I purchased it for (games), and I'm out of ideas.

System memory: 16GB

System BIOS: F.43

This is becoming impossible to deal with and I'm grateful to anyone with any kind of advice. (If any more info is required I'm happy to comply)

Sorry, but this is just a community forum staffed by volunteers and we have no way of troubleshooting or repairing your PC from here. All we can do here is provide links to troubleshooting steps that HP has written, and links to HP drivers.


If those links don't diagnose or fix the problem, or those drivers don't work, your only recourse is to take the PC into an HP Service Center and have them look at it.

Without the detailed product number of your laptop, I can not do a search for drivers, so please follow these instructions for finding the detailed product number: Finding Your HP Product Model Number | HP® Customer Support


Also, you said you "reinstalled the operating system".  Was that Win10, or was it Win8x?  And, if it was the latter, HOW did you do the reinstall?  Did you do it through the HP Recovery Manager? Did you use HP Recovery Disks? OR, did you do it from a Windows DVD?

We can proceed once you provide the information.
