HP Pavilion 15 cs3073cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I am using HP Pavilion 15 cs3073cl currently and have some questions about the dual monitor connection.

So, as to my knowledge, this laptop has 1 x HDMI, 1 x USB-C type, 2 x USB-A type ports. I have two monitors that I hope to connect to my laptop. The first laptop could be easily connected by using HDMI.

However, the issue came from when I tried to connect the second monitor. I mainly tried purchasing HP Spectre Travel Dock for USB-C type which has HDMI port I can connect to. It didn't work with no signal. I searched a bit and I think my USB-C type doesn't have a function to export video signal, is this right?

If so, would there be any way I can connect my second monitor using USB-A-type ports? I found there are adapters that convert USB-A to HDMI but not sure if that will work or just going to have no signal just like what I've tried with the USB-C type port.

Thank you so much!

The specs of your computer is

               https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06447667

It has  1 USB 3.1 Type-C™ Gen 1 (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port which does not support Alt mode for video out with nor without a hub/adapter/dock.

If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors (and notebook monitor - total 3), please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few USB-A DisplayLink Certified options on market today including some HP products (you can select HP before Search)
