HP Pavilion DV6000 video lags

Hello people!

I'm new to this forum, just made the account. I have an HP Pavilion DV6000, I got it for free from a neighbour a month ago, he said the screen wouldn't turn on. I fixed it now, it working fine. But one thing still annoys me.... Everytime I try to stream a video, be it Youtube or any other website, even offline, the video lags. It either freezes for a few seconds, it's super choppy and similar things. I tried to switch to Linux, but it seems it doesn't like it... I tried Windows Vista as well, same with Windows 7. Nothing solves this problem. I can't find an older driver to install, because I am starting to think the driver itself is the problem. Can you people help me? I spent too much time fixing it, I don't want to throw it away.

What is the product number of your dv6000?

The model series ranges from 6000-6990.

The product number can be found on the same label as the serial number.

Do not post the serial number.

The model is DV6189eu, and the product number is RR702EA#UUW.

OK, here is what I would do if I were you...

That model has an AMD processor and nvidia GeForce graphics adapter, correct?

Uninstall the current graphics adapter and driver you are using and restart the PC, so that you get the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter listed under the graphics adapters device manager category.

Download and run this Vista graphics driver. 

You will probably get an unsupported operating system error on W7 and above.

This package contains the NIVDIA VGA display driver for the NVIDIA GeForce Go Graphics in the supported notebook models and operating systems.

Close out of any error windows.

Go to the device manager and click to expand the display adapters device manager category.

Click on the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter listed there.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWsetup\sp35686.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.

If you have an unknown coprocessor device listed, let me know and I will give you the driver you need for that device as well.

Yes, it has an AMD and nVidia GPU. I will let you know if it worked or not!

I kinda messed up the windows, so I will let you know of it worked after the windows reinstallation.. Sorry if it takes long..

I extracted them and installed the driver the way you said, but my screen is now black with only the mouse on it, which I can move. I don't know if restarting it will help. I am on Windows 10 Pro if you want to know the OS as well.

Alright, I booted it. But I can't see any writing on the screen, nor in settings.

I was hoping that driver would work.

Try it on W7 and see what happens.
