HP Pavilion Gaming 17 ( 17-ab000nc ) DISPLAY IS GOING BLACK

Hi, I have big trouble with new notebook HP Pavilion Gaming 17 17-ab000nc

.  2 month old = NEW, no games played. 14 days after notebook bought and reinstalled system W10 64bit last version, all drivers updated, there is a trouble with display: When you do some work on notebook ( Word, internet, music....) the LCD suddenly go BLACK.  Backlighting is still ON, but you CANT DO NOTHING because you do not see anything - no key shortcuts responze, no mouse, nou tochpad... u cant see nothing. The only one way how to solve is TURN OFF notebook, by using on/off BUTTON.  (Short click, usualy shut down as normal)

 

I reinstallled all drivers - chipset, wifi, both VGAs (integrated Intel + GTX 960M) ... WITHOUT RESULTS. It happens 3x a day, it is very annoying, there is also problem when you have work in word openned....

 

I have here info from ERROR MANAGER: Here are two cases when it happens two times in 10 minutes:

Welcome to HP Forums. Thank you for posting your query.

 

I understand that the Notebook display keeps going blank often and you have already updated the drivers.

 

I suggest you update the Graphics card and Bios once again from Here.

 

If the issue persists, try updating the Graphics Driver directly from the Device Manager.

 

- In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
- In the list of devices, look for Display Adapter and expand the list
- Right-click the Graphics Driver and select Update Driver Software.
- Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the updated driver.
- Restart your computer to complete the installation of the updates.

 

Keep the Notebook under observation and if the same issue reoccurs, I suggest you backup your Data and attempt a System Recovery to Factory Settings.

 

- Turn off the computer.Disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes.
- Turn on the computer and repeatedly press the F11 key about once every second until the Choose an option screen is displayed, and then continue.
- On the Choose an Option screen, click Troubleshoot.
- On the Troubleshoot screen, click Recovery Manager.
- Under Help, click System Recovery.
- When Recovery Manager prompts you to back up your files, select a backup option:
- The Welcome to HP Recovery Manager screen is displayed. Read the on-screen information, and then disconnect any connected devices and cables, such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes.
- Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
- Click Next to continue.
- When recovery preparation is complete, click Continue to proceed to the installation phase of the recovery process. The computer restarts several times during the recovery. This is normal. Do not close, shut down, or disconnect the computer while HP Recovery runs.
- Recovery Manager reformats the Windows partition and reinstalls the original software.
- After the system recovery is complete, click Finish to restart the computer. Complete the setup screens and wait until the computer finishes the setup.
- Once the setup is complete, turn off the computer, reconnect all devices and cables, and then turn on the computer.
- Before using the computer, update and protect your computer by reinstalling any virus and security software that was installed before the system recovery.
- Reinstall any software programs that were added after purchasing the computer, as well as any files that were backed up.

Hi, I made all repairs from your long list... No changes. Still same problem.  Today I will do last one - the main - RESET W10 INTO FACTORY SETTINGS.  We will see in few weeks if it will help. 

 

There is one more thing which could help to explain the problem. I used HP TOOL image and installed into flash disk. Now i am doing all test. There appear one error - i am leaving photo here.... ID ERROR: GUWKTX-8RB90F-......video error HP.jpg
