HP Pavilion dv6t 7000 cto entertainment PC - How to get 4k resolution via HDMI

Hello,

As the subject line mentions that I have HP Pavilion dv6t 7000 CTO quad core entertainment PC. I read in the maintenance guide that HMDI 1.4, which laptop has, supports 4k resolution. But for some reason when I connect my 4k TV to the laptop, the maximum I am getting is 1080p. How can I get 4k resolution?

@rdxsuper

Thank you for replying with the details,

I looked around using the Nvidia GeForce 650M and this is what i found:
HDMI may not be capable of the resolution you want depending on the version and even then it may be limited to 30fps only

The information on your TV that I can find does not tell me the HDMI version which even if it is HDMI 2.0 your graphic card will limit it to HDMI 1.4.
