HP Pen lagging when writing

When using the HP pen to write something by hand (ie handwriting style) or to write into a search box my pen/screen is incredible laggy - the writing takes an incredibly lengthy amount of time to appear properly on the screen and is very glitchy while it's catching up. I only bought this laptop and the HP pen at the end of July 2020 and until now it's been great - and the pen hasn't been behind at all.

Please can you help? I need this to work ASAP! V important for my job.
