Hi!

I have an HP Spectre Laptop and the touchscreen recently stopped working. I have done the diagnostic test and it still functions but something is stopping it from working when the computer boots normally to Windows. They only recent changes to my system have been my son using a mouse with it, and also adding a new game...maybe these are the cause? I have seen some similar problems after searching these forums and I can clearly see what the issue is, but there have been no steps offered to fix it other than install/uninstall the driver a bunch of times, which has not worked. I will attach screen shots of the error. Any solution steps would be appreciated.

ELAN EzTouchFilter is not functioning properly. I have tried all updates and my Windows, drivers and HP system is all up to date.

Error code 37. The advice I am getting is to check with HP, but my warranty ended last year.

@la1975,

I reviewed your post and I understand that the touchscreen is not working correctly on the computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I checked the screenshots you have shared, and I do not see the driver for the touchscreen. The ELAN is the touchpad driver and I see that you have Synaptic touchpad on your computer and recommend you download and install the Synaptic driver.

You can download the Synaptic touchpad driver from the below link.

I recommend you follow the steps in the below article to fix the touchscreen issue.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
