My 1 year old laptop has suddenly had the touch screen completely stop working. I can not pinpoint any action that could have caused it as I do not regularly use it so it could have gone months unnoticed. I first noticed it when my pen was not working, and found the entire screen does not work.

I have tried multiple resets, using tablet mode, ran HP hardware failure tests, checked for system and driver updates and found nothing useful. When looking through device manager, I don't have the driver for HID touchscreen, but could not find how to download and install it. Upon restart the HP pen software opens and tells me it is not supported, and when looking at my computer info it also reads "no pen or touch input is available for this display". I have tried tips from previous forum posts and checking for any kind of failure anywhere and have got nothing.

Has anyone had similar problems where their touchscreen completely stops working? Please let me know if you have any suggestions for fixing this problem as it is very annoying when I am trying to take notes as a tablet. I do have warranty for my laptop but as I am now in school and it is my only computer, I am unable to send it in because I need to for class every day.

Hi@SeanC86, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

We have done the basic troubleshooting as per the document and the notebook needs to checked taking remote access so that get to know it's a hardware or software issue.

I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.

Keep me posted. Happy to help!
