HP pavilion 15-cs2013ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everybody,

i am starting to think its impossible... but i try to connect  my monitors (MONITOR 1 : ultrawide acer 34'' model : CB342CK / MONITOR 2 : BenQ 27'' model : GW2470 ) to my laptop : HP pavilion 15-cs2013ca

what i tried :

- Connect directly my monitors with the hdmi port and usb-c port for each monitor, doesn't work

- i tried with a usb-c docking station, doesn't work because my usb-c output isn't thunderbolt (the docking station was thunderbolt only)

- I now have a Targus docking station compatible with usb 3.0 and usb-c (Targus model :  DOCK310 ). I tried the docking station with my work laptop ( a first gen surface laptop with only usb-a 3.0 slot) and work lika a charm.

- I tried with the same configuration but it doesn't work with my personnal laptop (hp pavilion)

i dont know what to do anymore. i tried to install some drivers from Targus but it didn't help. I also used a Targus software to check if my laptop was compatible for their docking station and the report stated that my hp pavilion is compatible....

the Targus docking station is a plug and play type of hardware, but it didn't work on my laptop so im pretty sure the problem is with my laptop and no the docking station ( also because its working fine on my surface laptop)

If somebody can help me... and if you need more info just ask me i will give you anything you need.

The specs of your machine is

              https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06343585

It ONLY has 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port which does NOT support Alt mode nor Power Delivery. You can NOT use it to

  • Charge your machine
  • Connect to an external monitor with / without hub/dock/adapter

If you wish to have 2 or more external monitors (and notebook monitor - total 3), please enter your requirement on the following link and it will find for you few USB-A DisplayLink Certified options on market today including some HP products (you can select HP before Search)
