Hi @Jahnavi01,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Screen blurring on your HP computer could be caused by several factors. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue.
- Check for physical damage: Ensure there are no physical damages to the screen such as cracks or liquid spills. If there are, you may need to get the screen repaired or replaced.
- Update graphics drivers: Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display issues. Visit the HP website, enter your computer's model number, and download the latest graphics drivers. Install them and see if the issue persists.
- Adjust display settings: Sometimes, incorrect display settings can cause blurriness. Right-click on the desktop, select "Display Settings" (or "Screen Resolution"), and ensure the resolution is set to the native resolution of your monitor. You can also try adjusting other display settings to see if it helps.
- Check cables and connections: Make sure all cables connecting your computer to the monitor are securely plugged in. If you're using an external monitor, try using a different cable or port.
- Update Windows: Make sure your operating system is up to date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and click on "Check for updates." Install any available updates and restart your computer.
- Run hardware diagnostics: HP computers often come with built-in diagnostic tools. Restart your computer and press the designated key (often F2 or ESC) during startup to access the diagnostics. Run tests for the display and graphics to check for any hardware issues.
- Scan for malware: Malware can sometimes interfere with display settings and cause issues like blurriness. Run a full antivirus scan using reputable antivirus software to check for any malware infections.
- Check for overheating: Overheating can cause hardware components, including the graphics card, to malfunction. Ensure that the computer's vents are not blocked, and use compressed air to clean out any dust buildup inside the computer.
- Test in Safe Mode: Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode. If the screen blurriness doesn't occur in Safe Mode, it's likely that a third-party software or driver is causing the issue. You can then try uninstalling recently installed programs or drivers to see if that resolves the problem.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
