Hi @Jojjes,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you are experiencing issues with your HP Spectre laptop and the HP Pen. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

Ensure Bluetooth is turned on:

  • Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your HP Spectre laptop. You can usually find this in the system settings or taskbar.

Pairing the HP Pen:

  • Check if the HP Pen is correctly paired with your laptop. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your laptop, and if the HP Pen is not listed, try pairing it again.

Check battery levels:

  • Ensure that the HP Pen has sufficient battery. If the battery is low or depleted, it may not work properly.

Update drivers:

  • Make sure your laptop's Bluetooth drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to the device manager, finding the Bluetooth device, and checking for driver updates.

Reboot your laptop:

  • Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues. Restart your laptop and try using the HP Pen again.

Check compatibility:

  • Verify that the HP Pen is compatible with your HP Spectre model. Check the HP website or the product documentation for compatibility information.

Software issues:

  • Ensure that your operating system and any relevant software (such as the paint application) are up to date. Updates may include fixes for compatibility issues.

Try another application:

  • If the issue persists in the paint application, try using the HP Pen in another application or software to see if the problem is specific to that program.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware problem with the HP Pen or an underlying issue with the laptop itself.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
