HP Envy Laptop. $1200.00 computer. 6mo into a 1 year warranty,  screen develops a hairline crack in middle at bottom of screen. Now s I read to upper right. Never drop or abused. I am a 64 year old attorney. I bought HP because I worked right out of trade school I attended right from high school as a UAW Journeyman Electronic Technician in aerospace industry Ivworked with HP computers and always thought they were reliable. The broken glass caused my touch screen not to work. The cursor only works intermittenly. The screen will on its own try and open programs.  It has even dumped everything I had in a word program of over 50 pages. .  I was given an appointment at a Best Buy 45 minutes from my house. The technician said screen glass is not covered because it is not a manufactured defect. I asked how do you know the glass was not a manufacturer's defect. I was told because it has a hairline crack. Wow. They want $85.00 plus $350.00 to replace a glass screen on a computer that was never dropped. I have never had a computer screem develop hairline cracks or any screen cracks for that matter. Besides being stuck with a piece of garbage computer with a worthless warranty I get the pleasure of being accused of damaging the computer screen. Nice customer service. I have used computers since 1980 and I have used personal computers since they came out. I use HP computers all day every day for my law practise because I thought they were reliable. No more.  Totally disappointed with HP, their warranty and their farmed out service people.
