I have hp stream 11 d023tu notebook pc. When the laptop was new ,then the touchpad works properly, but after few updates the touchpad not works at all. I tried to turn or toggle the touchpad on from both the settings and device manager but from both sites the touchpad option was not there. I have also tried trobleshooting for that but nothing improves.

Hi @abcd123489344,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for the detailed info. The issue you're facing with your HP Stream 11-d023tu Notebook PC—that the touchpad stopped working after Windows updates, and no touchpad option appears in Settings or Device Manager.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you resolve it:
1. Try the Touchpad Toggle Shortcut
- Press Fn + F6 (or Fn + F5) — look for a key with a touchpad icon.
- This may have accidentally disabled the touchpad.
2. Enable Hidden Devices in Device Manager
- Press Win + X → Device Manager.
- Click View > Show hidden devices.
- Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
- If you see a HID-compliant touchpad or Synaptics, right-click and choose:
- Update driver → Search automatically.
- If that fails, choose Uninstall device, then restart your laptop.
3. Perform a Hard Reset
This clears any miscommunication between hardware and software:
- Power off the laptop.
- Unplug the charger.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power and turn it on.
4. Check BIOS Settings
- Restart and press Esc, then F10 to enter BIOS.
- Look for the Internal Pointing Device or Touchpad under Advanced.
- Make sure it’s enabled.
- Save and exit.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
