HP Envy

Hello!

I've had my HP envy for over  a year now and recently ran into a problem with my home display screen. When turning it on it would always turn onto my background display with my different folders everywhere, but now it locked itself into a different kind of screen. Now when I turn it on it does show somewhat of my background, but with the different apps displayed as it I had pressed the windows key. I have tried almost everything and can't get it back to normal.

Is there any way to reset my laptop to how it used to be?

Please help!

Thank you,

Neesee

The following article might describe what you are seeing:

Start Menu Stuck on Desktop - Won't Exit

The fix:

Switch off Tablet mode

Example

Settings > System > Tablet Mode

When I sign in

Select the "mode' you want from the dropdown menu
