Hp Active Pen not writing

Hi, I just bought this HP Pavilion 14 IPS touch screen laptop. I was told by the seller that it is compatible with HP active pen.

I am able to pair the HP active pen with the laptop and the buttons work but I am not able to use it for writing or drawing anything.

I am using Win 10 x 64 bit operating system

Would appreciate any support. Thanks.

The Pavilion might be compatible with an active stylus - it is not likely compatible with the stylus named "HP Active Pen".

That said, to find out what is happening,

We need your computer full model name or its Product Number.

Here is help to find that information:

Finding your Product Name, Product Number, or Serial Number

Open  Software and Drivers 

Open Category Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices

is there a reference document which shows the compatibility of various HP pens with HP laptops.

I have an HP Elite book 360 laptop as well and wandering which pen would be compatible with that. This pen is certainly not working for both the laptops.
