Hi @Velzzard,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

If your HP ENVY 17bw0003ng laptop has a 4K screen but is only displaying 1920x1080 in the screen settings, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

Check Display Settings:

  • Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
  • Scroll down to the Display resolution section and see if 3840x2160 (4K) is listed as an option. If it’s not, continue with the steps below.

Update Graphics Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button and selecting it from the menu.
  • Expand the Display adapters section, right-click on your graphics driver, and choose Update driver.
  • Select Search automatically for updated driver software and follow the prompts.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for any available updates. Install them if necessary.

Check the Connection:

  • If you’re using an external display, ensure that the cable and ports are capable of supporting 4K resolution. For instance, HDMI cables should be rated for 2.0 or higher for 4K.

Graphics Control Panel:

  • Open the control panel for your graphics card (NVIDIA Control Panel or AMD Radeon Settings). Look for display options and check if you can set the resolution to 4K there.

Adjust Scale and Layout:

  • In Display settings, make sure that the scaling is set correctly. Sometimes, setting it to 100% can help the resolution options to appear correctly.

Reboot and Reconnect:

  • Sometimes, simply rebooting your laptop or disconnecting and reconnecting any external displays can help the system recognize the correct resolution.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, there might be a hardware limitation or issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
