Spectre x360 convertible
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a spectre x360 convertible. It's been doing this for a while, but as the laptop is used mainly for work it has become increasingly cumbersome to deal with. When I power the laptop on, the screen appears black. The white light on the power button will blink when the laptop is closed, and stays lit when it is open. By shining a flashlight on the screen, I can see that the screen is actually on, but is too dim to see anything without the flashlight. Sometimes if I close and reopen the laptop repeatedly the screen will turn on just fine. It appears as though the source of light that actually makes the screen light up isnt working. Anyone had similar issues, or can give me some insight?

Hi@Edea,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing Hinge issues with the HP Spectre x360 Notebook. It is a hardware issue on the PC.

As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now. I would request you to contact our HP Support Engineers and should be able to sort this out. HP provides repair or service options for out of warranty products as well. Hence I encourage you to contact HP support for all warranty service options.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options.
