I have a HP Pavilion laptop that flips open to the tablet. A clip behind the screen around the right hand hinge broke the other day and I am trying to see if this can be fixed under warranty and how to file that claim. The next time I used the laptop, the screen cracked diagonally across rendering the upper right hand of the screen (above the cracks) useless via mouse or touchscreen even though it still shows the entire screen. I am a Masters student as well as a Graduate assistant heading back to school in a few days and I rely heavily on my laptop and I don't want/need to have to get a whole new one at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
With the standard one-year limited warranty, you will be covered for the repair or replacement of parts deemed defective. The warranty does not cover accidental damage, screen crack and liquid spillage.
