I bought two HP VH240a monitors in June of 2019. They both just stopped detecting signal. My wife has the exact same monitors and they work on my computer with no problem. My monitors do not work on her computer.

Are my monitors trash?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details and I would appreciate if you could, perhaps elaborate on your concern.

  • What is the product number of the monitor?
  • Is the monitor turning on?
  • Are you getting any errors on the monitor?
  • What is the operating system you are using?
  • What is the exact issue you are facing?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?

Look forward to hearing from you and you have a great day!

Take care.

Cheers!

Hello and thank you for your assistance.

  • What is the product number of the monitor? Two monitors, HP VH240a.
  • Is the monitor turning on? YES
  • Are you getting any errors on the monitor? YES, not receiving signal
  • What is the operating system you are using? Windows 10
  • What is the exact issue you are facing? Both monitors stopped receiving signal. I put the same monitors on my wife computer and they did NOT work. I put my wifes monitors on my computer and they DID work. So it is the monitors that are not working.
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer? NO
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting? I have tried to re load all drivers, plug the monitors in different computers...

Thank you for the information.

Is the HP monitor working on your wife's computer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you update the graphics driver on the computer and check whether the issue is resolved.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers!

The HP monitors do not work on any other computer and I did update the drivers on my computer. That did not work either.
