Hi @praneeth18,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I’m sorry you’re going through this; I understand the concern and don’t worry I’ll help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

When you press PrtSc, does anything happen (like saving to clipboard), or is it completely unresponsive?

Are you trying to use it alone, or with a modifier key (like Fn + PrtSc or Windows + PrtSc)?

Have you noticed if other function keys (like brightness or volume) work normally?

Here are some troubleshooting steps worth trying:

  • Check shortcut combinations: On many HP laptops, the Print Screen function is tied to Fn + PrtSc or Windows + PrtSc. Try those combinations.
  • Use Snipping Tool: Press Windows + Shift + S to open the Snipping Tool. This is the modern replacement for Print Screen and may work even if the key doesn’t.
  • Update drivers: Go to Device Manager → Keyboards, right‑click your keyboard, and update the driver. Also check HP Support Assistant for updates.
  • Keyboard settings: In Settings → Accessibility → Keyboard, make sure “Use the Print Screen button to open screen snipping” is enabled.
  • Test with external keyboard: Plug in a USB keyboard and try its Print Screen key. If that works, the issue may be with the Victus keyboard hardware or firmware.
  • BIOS update: Check HP’s support page for your Victus model and install any BIOS updates, as some fix function key mapping issues.

When you press Fn + PrtSc, does it capture the screen or still do nothing? That detail will help confirm whether this is a key mapping issue or a hardware fault.

I hope this helps.

I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster!
