I have just 5gb useable out of 8gb. Two of my ram slots are used and the CPU keeps increasing when I load chrome with figma files. It completely freezes when I start a development server for a next project. I don’t know how the Ram got full. I use a windows 10 pro 64-bit AMD Radeon 2.30Ghz HDD Hardware reserve 2.1gb local disk 930gb

please help me, I have a job to deliver and I can’t do any work because of this

What you are describing in terms of memory usage is how Windows works.  Everything runs only in memory.  The drive is used to store things, but apps are loaded into memory, along with files, whenever you do any work.

If you are running short of working memory, the only permanent solution is to replace the memory sticks in your laptop with some with greater capacity -- and I do not have the expertise to tell you what sticks to buy.

What I recommend is that you open another thread, provide the model number of your laptop, and mention in the title that you are looking to buy new RAM for it.  Then, laptop hardware experts here will see that and will advise you on what to buy.

Thank you for replying. So does this mean I have to buy a new ram everytime I have a new workspace to load? That was the reason why I got a second one previously. If that is the solution I will, but I want to know if this is the only mode of solving the problem

Also more information the additional ram I bought previously was 4gb DDR4 that’s what made it up to 8gb. I was told my laptop capacity was not compatible with a higher ram
