I use OMEN Laptop - 15-dh1019nt . I get an issue with displaying caps lock and numlock on/off signs. I tried the solutions found on community but they did not work at all. When I tried the solution that says go to Control Panel and key settings, it did not work. I thought it might be related to HP Hotspot application but there is no such app in my computer. What else should I try to get rid of this?

Hi @Cerrah61,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing difficulty with the on-screen display indicators for the Caps Lock and Num Lock keys on your OMEN Laptop - 15-dh1019nt. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Update Keyboard Drivers:
- Go to Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
- Expand the "Keyboards" section, right-click on your keyboard, and select "Update driver".
- Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software" and follow the prompts. Restart your computer after the update.
Check HP System Event Utility:
- Make sure that the HP System Event Utility is installed on your laptop. This utility often controls function keys and indicator lights for HP laptops.
- You can download it from the HP support website. Enter your model number to find the specific software for your device.
Adjust Settings in BIOS:
- Sometimes, settings in the BIOS can affect how indicators work. To enter the BIOS, restart your computer and press the F10 key repeatedly until the BIOS menu appears.
- Look for any settings related to keyboard or indicator lights and see if there are any options that might be affecting the display of your Caps Lock and Num Lock indicators.
Reinstall HP Hotkey Support:
- If HP Hotkey Support is part of your system's software suite, it may need to be reinstalled or updated. This can also be found on HP's support website under the drivers for your specific model.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure your system is up to date with all Windows updates, as these can include fixes for driver compatibility issues.
- Go to Settings -> Update & Security -> Windows Update and check for updates.
Restore System Defaults:
- As a last resort, you can try restoring your system to its default settings in case any configuration has been changed that affects the display of lock indicators.
- Before doing this, make sure to back up all important data as system resets can sometimes be more comprehensive than expected.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
