Working with a friends Envy - ed1013dm. Started with the webcam being intermittently recognized and then not, every few seconds. Windows updates good. Opened it up to check for loose connect. Now the internal display is BLACK and not recognized, and the HDMI side port is not picking up the external monitor. External monitor works with USB-C to HDMI adapters.
I have updated BIOS, done numerous hard resets, plug/unplug internal battery. - no progress.
I'm concerned that the HDMI in-op is pointing to a motherboard issue in the display area, or could this be as simple as the cable to the display/touch screen. I am pretty sure the camera is on a diff connector.
Trying to update all drivers now - but am less than hopeful.
What other ways to diagnose to the display panel iteself, connecting cables, digitizer board. There is no aparent light or logo at any time during boot or running on the internal display.
Thanks for any advice.
