HP Consumer Notebook PCs - Using the backlit keyboard
Not all keyboards include a Backlit keyboard.
What?
Even if the computer series includes the option, YOUR computer might not have a backlit keyboard.
The best way to check is to look for the little icon on the F5, or perhaps F9 key that designates the Back Light control
The examples are meant as samples -- to find your computer's information,

Enter the device type and model name of your HP product
Next
Open Category Setup & User Guides
Look for and open the User Guide
Look in the Table of Contents, else search the document for "keyboard", "special key", and / or "Action keys"
