There are some keyboard marks on my screen. I tried cleaning it with a cloth because I thought it was just dirt or something, however, it remains visible. I tried all the basic troubleshooting, and nothing changed.

Hi @brndnjv,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you have keyboard marks on your HP 15 Laptop PC screen, there are a few steps you can take to try and remove or minimize the marks.

  • Turn off your laptop: Before attempting any cleaning, it's important to turn off your laptop and unplug it from the power source. This will prevent any accidental damage or electrical shock.
  • Clean the screen with a microfiber cloth: Gently wipe the screen using a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth. Start from one side and move in a circular motion to remove any dust, fingerprints, or smudges. Avoid applying excessive pressure as it could damage the screen.
  • Use a screen cleaning solution: If the keyboard marks persist, you can use a screen cleaning solution specifically designed for electronic displays. Apply a small amount of the solution to a clean, microfiber cloth and gently wipe the screen in a circular motion. Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for the cleaning solution and avoid spraying it directly onto the screen.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials: It's important to avoid using harsh chemicals, such as ammonia-based cleaners or solvents, as they can damage the screen. Similarly, abrasive materials like paper towels or rough cloths can cause scratches.
  • Prevention is key: To avoid future keyboard marks on your screen, consider using a laptop keyboard cover or a screen protector. These accessories can provide an additional layer of protection between the keyboard and the screen, reducing the likelihood of marks or scratches.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I tried cleaning it, but it seems like it's internal issues already. It's not dirt or something, there's something wrong with my screen.
